Ms. Ringuette has been working in this position since June 20, 2022 and states that “the CLTD is a vital organization within the legal community through its high-quality work in the field of legal translation and revision as well as its production of numerous tools enabling French speaking jurists to work in their language. It is with pride and energy that I accept this position and the new challenges that will arise as its Director.\u201d<\/p>\n
Ms. Ringuette is originally from Northwestern New Brunswick. She completed her post-secondary studies at the University of Ottawa and holds a bachelor’s degree in communication (2001) and a bachelor’s degree in law from the French Common Law program (2004).<\/p>\n
She has been a member of the Law Society of Ontario since 2005.\u00a0 Ms. Ringuette has worked for several years as a bilingual family law lawyer in Hamilton, Ontario practicing in the areas of fertility and surrogacy law and adoptions. Ms. Ringuette is also a bilingual family mediator offering virtual mediation services across the province of Ontario. Ms. Ringuette has an impressive background in community involvement and will continue to do so in conjunction with her role as Director of the CLTD. She was recently elected President of the Board of Directors of \u00a0AJEFO in June 2022 and she is the 1st Vice-Chair of the Board of the Family Dispute Resolution Institute of Ontario (FDRIO) as Vice-President since 2021.<\/p>\n
Located on the campus of the University of Ottawa, the role of the CLTD is to create the legal documentation needed for practising law and delivering legal services in French, primarily in Ontario, but also in the other common law provinces and territories. Ms. Ringuette recognizes the importance of the CLTD within the legal community as a whole and she is committed to continuing the efforts of the centre and to benefit from the use of information technology and its highly specialized translators and revisers. Passionate about the integration of new technologies in the legal environment, Ms. Ringuette will have as her first objective to modernize the CLTD so that it is recognized as one of the most modern legal translation and documentation centres in Canada. \u201cUnder her leadership, the CLTD will continue its role as an innovative leader. Supported by a team of professionals who make the CLTD a dynamic and productive organization, I am confident that Ms. Ringuette will motivate her team and implement new projects as a result of her dynamism and ease in creating new opportunities and new partnerships.\u201d says Ms. Sonia Ouellet, President of the CLTD.<\/p>\n
